Disciples of Jesus Christ, Memorial Parsha of Vayahkel-Pekudei, Exodus 36

Memorial Parsha of Vayahkeh-Pekudei on Sabbath,
March 13th 2010

EN-LO-HEI-NU VEI-LO-HEI A-VO-TEI-NU V’I-MO-TEI-NU, R’TZER VI-M’NU-CHA-TEI-NU.

Our God, God of our Fathers and Mothers, may rest on this day be pleasing in your sight.
In the prior chapter, Exodus 35, the Sabbath regulation is described in greater detail, than being a sign between God and His people. The half shekel payment was demanded; along with remember the festivals that fall on the Sabbath (Exodus 34). Next, wise hearted men and women step forward to voluntarily contribute to the service of the sanctuary, not because you had to, but because you wanted to give personal service that is contributed to the sanctuary. In this chapter, the materials are brought in to complete the work of God and the glory of God fills this place (Isaiah 58:8).

Remember that when Jesus died, the veil was torn which symbolizes to me, that approaching the Holy of Holies is easier than you think. You have the truth right inside of you. You don't have to go to a building to learn about the annointing, the annointing will in the privacy of your own home. As the Apostle John said, let no man teach you what you know about the anointing. Yet there are many religions that defy the bible and teach you about the anointing, the Messiah (Matthew 27:51).

VAYAKHEL-PEKUDEI HAFTORAH: 1 KINGS 7TH CHAPTER AND 1 KINGS 8TH CHAPTER,

1 Kings 7:13-14 - Hiram the Craftsman

13 Now King Solomon sent and brought Huram from Tyre. 14 He was the son of a widow from the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a bronze worker; he was filled with wisdom and understanding and skill in working with all kinds of bronze work. So he came to King Solomon and did all his work (2nd Chronicles 2:13,14).

1 KINGS 8 (NEW KING JAMES VERSION)
1 Kings 8:1-21: The Ark Brought into the Temple

1 Now Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel, to King Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD from the City of David, which is Zion.

2 Therefore all the men of Israel assembled with King Solomon at the feast in the month of Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

3 So all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

4 Then they brought up the ark of the LORD, the tabernacle of meeting, and all the holy furnishings that were in the tabernacle. The priests and the Levites brought them up.

5 Also King Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel who were assembled with him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen that could not be counted or numbered for multitude.

6 Then the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the temple, to the Most Holy Place, under the wings of the cherubim.

7 For the cherubim spread their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim overshadowed the ark and its poles.

8 The poles extended so that the ends of the poles could be seen from the holy place, in front of the inner sanctuary; but they could not be seen from outside. And they are there to this day.

9 Nothing was in the ark except the two tablets of stone which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

10 And it came to pass, when the priests came out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,

11 so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD.

12 Then Solomon spoke: “The LORD said He would dwell in the dark cloud.

13 I have surely built You an exalted house, And a place for You to dwell in forever.”

SOLOMON’S SPEECH AT COMPLETION OF THE WORK

14 Then the king turned around and blessed the whole assembly of Israel, while all the assembly of Israel was standing.

15 And he said: “Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who spoke with His mouth to my father David, and with His hand has fulfilled it, saying,

16 ‘Since the day that I brought My people Israel out of Egypt, I have chosen no city from any tribe of Israel in which to build a house, that My name might be there; but I chose David to be over My people Israel.’

17 Now it was in the heart of my father David to build a temple[a] for the name of the LORD God of Israel. 18 But the LORD said to my father David, ‘Whereas it was in your heart to build a temple for My name, you did well that it was in your heart.

19 Nevertheless you shall not build the temple, but your son who will come from your body, he shall build the temple for My name.’

20 So the LORD has fulfilled His word which He spoke; and I have filled the position of my father David, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised; and I have built a temple for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

21 And there I have made a place for the ark, in which is the covenant of the LORD which He made with our fathers, when He brought them out of the land of Egypt.”

EXODUS 36:
INTRODUCTION:

In this chapter, Bezalel and Aholiab are given the gift of the Spirit, the fruit of the Spirit – in wisdom and understanding in the knowledge of works for the service of the Sanctuary. Therefore, Bazalel and Aholiab and every gifted artisan received the knowledge of god to do the work in the sanctuary as commanded by the LORD (EXODUS 36:1; 1 Chronicles 29:5; Exodus 31:9-10; Exodus 35:21-26).

THE PEOPLE GIVE MORE THAN ENOUGH: Exodus 36:2-7:

The workers for the sanctuary and everyone whom the LORD put wisdom and whose heart was stirred did the work for the service of sanctuary; and received all the offering which the children of Israel brought to Moses. Moses in turn gave the materials needed for the work of the service of making the sanctuary to the workman and artisan etc. Then the freewill offering, eventually became too much because the people were bringing materials in every morning. Moses ceased the voluntary offering of the LORD, and asked that the people would bring no more; because the people had brought enough of their voluntary yarn, gold and silver etc. The workman had told Moses that they had more than enough for the service of the work of the sanctuary, which the LORD has commanded us to do.

BUILDING THE TABERNACLE: Exodus 36:8-37

The gifted artisans were given the task of making curtains for the tabernacles, and cherubim’s (v. 8-13). The curtains of goats hair is used for the tent over the tabernacle (v. 14). Then a covering for the tent of rams skins and badger skins is made (v. 19; Exodus 26:14).

Next boards for all sides of the tabernacle are made (v. 20; Exodus 26:15). There were eight boards and their sockets – sixteen sockets of silver – two sockets under each of the boards with bars for the tabernacle.

Lastly, the veil was made with the cherubim, and the curtains and the four pillars of golden hooks and four silver sockets were made for them (Exodus 36: 8, 35). Also the screen of the tabernacle and the five pillars with their hooks capitals and rings were made of gold; but the sockets were made with bronze by a weaver.

Bezalel and Aholiab and skilled pesons were given gifts from the LORD to use their ability willington to come and do the work of the sanctuary and to make the priestly garments.

14But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
15But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
16Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. (2 Corinthians 3:13-16, King James Version)
