Brief Commentary on Exodus 40:
A lot can be said about this chapter, but in the memorial portions of Tetzaveh and Terumah, God prepares Moses for commandments that are pleasing for him. The tent and the priesthood are ordained by God. The children of Israel shall be God's chosen people. On the first month in the second year and the first day, Moses reared up the tent.
How about that, at the stations of our lives, we have a tent revival and we preach all the way into the promised land. Now this is amazing because the children of Israel got to see how God was definitley with the people of the congregation. Although God is everywhere, the favor and providence of God was absolutely with the congregation of Israel.
In the end Moses put up the entire tento of the congregation and the alter and the septic system. As stated earlier he had the annointing oil, the vessels, the altar, Aaron and his sons; the hanging on the door of the tabernacle; the alter of burnt offering is by the door so that all of the olah or burnt offering; minchah or meal offering; zevach sh'lamim or sacrifice of well-being; chatat or sin offeirng; or asham or penalty offering which is given through voluntary offerings, if you noticed that you were a member of the congregation of Israel and you had transgressed in your iniquity.
In closing, the Glory of the LORD is here, the presence of the LORD is here, I can feel the Lord in the atmosphere. I bet that was an amazing time to feel the amazing providence of God that he promised he would be with you when you see Exodus 32:12-21.
