This Parsha opens up with Judah approaching him, Joseph which is the ruler over all the land of Egypt. Vayigash means "he approached him." Genesis 44:18. From this point on Judah goes over the conversation that he had with Joseph about their younger brother, Benjamin for the recompense of the silver cup and that his Father would be appalled if he did not return home. Genesis 44:19-23. Joseph had been told that the baby should stay near the father, Jacob, and it came to pass that their father was given the words of Joseph who had been missing, because he thought Joseph had been succumbed to mischief or foul play, the his father Israel will be sorrowful again if anything should happen to Benjamin, he would worry with grey hairs and die a day early.
EGenesis 45:8-15
Joseph tells them, it is not you that sent me here, but God that has sent me here, made me a fatherly figure to Pharaoh, and lord over all his house, and ruler throughout the land of Egypt.
The he ordered them to get his father, tell him that your son Joseph is "alive," and that God has made him lord over all over all of Egypt and that he shall dwell in the land of Goshen. Although the famine will last seven years, Joseph can take care of his father, should you all come in to hardship. Next, Joseph cried again, and Benjamin cried too, upon all his brothers. Isn't this just a wonderful story, but you may not get the entire benefits of some programs that reunify the family without a blood test and interest, which requires your time.
Genesis 45:16-24
Pharaoh was pleased that Joseph's family was coming. He ordered Joseph to send for his entire family, not just Israel, and he will give them the best land of Egypt. Like his brethren Benjamin fresh clothing, but he also gave Benjamin 300 pieces of silver and five additional changes of fresh clothing. He was sending for his father and gave them plenty of supplies, for the trip too, and told the brothers to get along with each other.
Genesis 45:25-28
So the brothers safely made it back to the land of Canaan to get their father Jacob. The brothers told their father, Jacob everything that Joseph had said because is still alive, and he is the governor over all the land of Egypt. After hearing this great report that his favorite son was still alive, Israel was so happy that his son had sent for him. Israel said, I want to see my son while I am still alive, this is what he wants and that is to see you his father Israel. Likewise the father said that he needed to see Joseph before he died, and then he knew that he would die only once. Now dieing only once is a true rest in peace, this is what happens to believers that believe on Je
Welcome to the Disciples of Jesus Christ’s Memorial Parsha of Shoftim, as we read in the book of Deuteronomy, one of five book of Moses. Parsha Shoftim is in Deuteronomy 16 through Deuteronomy 21. The Haphtarah may be read from Isaiah 51 through Isaiah 52.
We continue into Chapter Sixteen from the book of Deuteronomy, and Moses is commanding that the people would choose a judge. The idea of choosing a judge had been brought up in the Parsha Yitro (Jethro, the father of Zipphorah, the wife of Moses). (Exodus 18:13-16). However, Memorial Parsha Moses again commanded that the people choose able judges to lead the people. In this Parsha, Shoftim, Moses commands that the people 18 Appoint judges and officials for each of your tribes in every town the LORD your God is giving you, and they shall judge the people fairly. 19 Do not pervert justice or show partiality. Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous. 20 Follow justice and justice alone, so that you may live and possess the land the LORD your God is giving you. (Deuteronomy 16:18-20).
In Chapter Seventeen, in the book of Deuteronomy, Moses commands that you shall not offer any animal as a sacrifice to the LORD Thy God that has a blemish. (Deuteronomy 17:1 and Leviticus 22:20).
Next Moses commands that there shall be two witnesses to diligently determine if you have gone after the other gods to worship, transgressing the covenant of the LORD Thy God, is evil in his sight. Then you shall use the witness of the third person to put the person to death. And purge the evil from among you. (Deuteronomy 17:2-7; Deuteronomy 11:29; 27:12-13). However in the book of Judges, Abimelech went to his Mothers clans in Shechem. Abimelech had decided that he should sway the people to let him rule over the people. (Judges 9:1). However, another generation rose that knew not the LORD God. Nevertheless, Jotham stood and prophesied on Mount Gerizim that one day the people would desire more than a judge, but a King. Meanwhile the people had forsook the LORD Thy God judges 11.
Much later, Jotham speaks in a parable about the people one day desiring a King, as he spoke to the people that had revolted against his paternal clan. Then he asked the people to look presumptuously at the behavior toward Jerub-Baal. He is saying that there will be fire to consume you (the trees) so strong that a large forest would be consumed, like the trees of Lebanon, and thorn bush’s. (Judges 9:7-20). This is the story of God avenging the blood of the crime against Jerub-Baal on their brother Abimelech and on the citizens of Shechem, because they dealt treacherously with the people. Therefore, God sent an evil spirit between them; and the divisive spirit (Gaal, the son of Ebed) caused some to serve Shechem’s father, Hamor or Abimelech which is the son of Jerub-Baal. (Judges 9:30-41).
The people were repeatedly attacked by the company of Abimelech in city of Shechem, captured and destroyed the city and then salt was poured all over the streets; which meant a person worth was in the meaning of salt, scattered throughout the city – nothing. (Judges 9:42-45). Next, Abimelech went to a city name Thebez and besieged that city, then captured it, after he had lit a fire in the temple of El-Berith, and about one-thousand men and women died. (Judges 9:46-49). Abimelech, went into a tower, a stronghold for all the people of the city, stormed it to set on fire, but he was killed Abimelech was a lot like King Saul, the first anointed King over Israel he did not want anyone to think that a woman had killed him (Judges 9:50 and 1 Samuel 16:1). Whereas Saul didn’t want to be a Prisoner of War. (1 Samuel 31:1-6). However, King David, the branch of Jess was told by the Amelakite that he thrust Saul (the Lord’s Anointed) and did not die, and David then tore his clothes and fasted for the people of the LORD Thy God, and the house of Israel.
Since there were no righteous judges’ in the territory of Gideon, and Manasseh and Ehud would eventually clash on this endeavor because Ehud moved on the spirit of God and passed over the territories in the next chapter of the book of Judges (Judges 12). The Spirit of God, works grace, and Apostle Paul said, in Romans 8:9, "9You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact(Q) the Spirit of God dwells in you.(R) Anyone who does not have(S) the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him." God had recompensed the wickedness that Abimelech had done to his father’s seventy sons. God also made the Shechem pay for all their wickedness. The curse of Jotham, son of Jerub-Baal came on them. Nevertheless, the art of warfare was important as technology in warfare is today, because warfare is a very important component in setting the battle in array. Yet, looking at the sixteenth person die in the apartment complex, I am thinking that my godly life doesn’t make a difference, yet I know that I am not perfect. I live out my life in the Spirit of God through Jesus Christ. No matter how bad things you can live a triumphant life. Most importantly you may still try to gain inner peace, know the word of God; and know the hour – to determine your will of God. Remember Jesus died for the church, bless the House of David and bless the House of Aaron. (Psalm 118:1-4).
In closing, Peter, like myself also a descendant of Aaron healed a crippled beggar at Solomon's colonade, at the Beautiful gate of the temple courts (Acts 3:2-8; and Acts 4:1-12). Then there was Stephen the first Bishop of the church was brought before the Sanhedrin. Stephen started with the gospel in the covenant of Abraham through circumcision. He was careful not to forget that Moses passed an angel in the flames of a burning bush. Moses heard the voice of the LORD, the God of your fathers. He preached that the people resist the Holy Ghost. (Acts 7:52-53). The Apostle Stephen said, 51(CV) "You stiff-necked people,(CW) uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit.(CX) As your fathers did, so do you. 52(CY) Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who announced beforehand the coming of(CZ) the Righteous One,(DA) whom you have now betrayed and murdered, 53you who received the law(DB) as delivered by angels and(DC) did not keep it."
When you enter the land the LORD your God is giving you shall choose a king from among your own brothers. The King shall not acquire great numbers of horses for himself or make the people return to Egypt to get more of them, for the LORD has told you, "You are not to go back that way again." The King shall not take many wives, or his heart will be led astray. He must not accumulate large amounts of silver and gold.
The instruction given here by Moses command is very important because this was the fall of a nation, too many wives, too many horses, and depending on Egypt for horses, instead of giving Assyria tribute. And so there were many factors that can lead you to stray, from the covenant and God's word. (Exodus 34:16 and 2nd Samuel 3:2-5). As you can see with the extensive DNA research provided, my family also answered to their Clan chiefs, even when a descendant of the Aaron rose to chiefdom. So the commandment of Moses was adhered - throughout the Ulster region until our family was forced to leave Ireland-Scotland.http://dna-project.clan-donald-usa.org/DNAmain3.htm As a matter of fact, leadership is very important in the structure of a community, just as important as a family.
1 In the four hundred and eightieth [a] year after the Israelites had come out of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, the second month, he began to build the temple of the LORD. Footnotes:
1 Kings 6:1 Hebrew; Septuagint four hundred and fortieth
1 Kings 7:1-2 Solomon Builds His Palace 1 It took Solomon thirteen years, however, to complete the construction of his palace. 2 He built the Palace of the Forest of Lebanon a hundred cubits long, fifty wide and thirty high, [a] with four rows of cedar columns supporting trimmed cedar beams.
1 King Solomon, however, loved many foreign women besides Pharaoh's daughter—Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians and Hittites. 11Therefore the LORD said to Solomon, "Since this has been your practice and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes that I have commanded you,(A) I will surely tear the kingdom from you and will give it to your servant.
31And he said to Jeroboam, "Take for yourself ten pieces, for thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, 'Behold,(A) I am about to tear the kingdom from the hand of Solomon and will give you ten tribes
2 Chronicles 12:1313 King Rehoboam established himself firmly in Jerusalem and continued as king. He was forty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city the LORD had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel in which to put his Name. His mother's name was Naamah; she was an Ammonite.
Nehemiah 13:2626 Was it not because of marriages like these that Solomon king of Israel sinned? Among the many nations there was no king like him. He was loved by his God, and God made him king over all Israel, but even he was led into sin by foreign women.
1 Rehoboam went to Shechem, for all the Israelites had gone there to make him king. 2 When Jeroboam son of Nebat heard this (he was still in Egypt, where he had fled from King Solomon), he returned from [a]Egypt. 3 So they sent for Jeroboam, and he and the whole assembly of Israel went to Rehoboam and said to him: 4 "Your father put a heavy yoke on us, but now lightens the harsh labor and the heavy yoke he put on us, and we will serve you."
1Now there happened to be there(A) a worthless man, whose name was Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjaminite. And he blew the trumpet and said, (B) "We have no portion in David, and we have no inheritance in the son of Jesse;(C) every man to his tents, O Israel!"
16And when all Israel saw that the king did not listen to them, the people answered the king, "What portion do we have in David? We have no inheritance in the son of Jesse.(L) To your tents, O Israel! Look now to your own house, David." So Israel went to their tents. 17But Rehoboam reigned over(M) the people of Israel who lived in the cities of Judah. 18Then King Rehoboam sent(N) Adoram, who was taskmaster over the forced labor, and all Israel stoned him to death with stones. And King Rehoboam hurried to mount his chariot to flee to Jerusalem. 19(O) So Israel has been in rebellion against the house of David to this day.20And when all Israel heard that Jeroboam had returned, they sent and called him to the assembly and made him king over all Israel. There was none that followed the house of David but(P) the tribe of Judah only.

Disciples of Jesus Christs Memorial Parsha VA'et'chanan
Saturday, July 24, 2010, Deuteronomy 3:23 through Deuteronomy 7:11 and Haftorah Isaiah 40:1-26.
Welcome to the Memorial Parsha of Jesus Christ. The Disciples Memorial Parsha of Jesus Christ can be found in the Haphtarah of Isaiah 40:1-26, that starts off the Shabbat Nahamu (Nachumu). The opening words of the Prophet Isaiah are console, console, console; which is the beginning of a seven week cycle of Haftorah’s in the book of Isaiah, the last twenty-six chapters. The Haftorah’s that we will be reading will focus on the theme of consoling the exiles in Babylonia; remaining in hope of returning to Jerusalem to rebuild the second temple (destroyed again in 70 AD); and prophetic testimony of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ that the Gentiles will put their trust; and prophetic testimony of Jesus the Messiah that will gather the seed of Abraham, and the fulfillment of Moses law to seek and save the lost of the house of Israel.
The Seed of Israel: divisions of Israel (Numbers 1:1-54), carry the portable sanctuary, which is called a Tabernacle (Mishkans), in the Tent of Meeting (Ohel Mo-ed). Moses preached to the ancient church saying, Deuteronomy 4.

They That Wait, Isaiah 40:1-26
ISAIAH 40:1-26 1Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. 2Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD's hand double for all her sins. 3The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. 4Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: 5And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. 6The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: 7The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. 8The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever. 9O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God! 10Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. 11He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young. 12Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? 13Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him? 14With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding? 15Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing. 16And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering. 17All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity. 18To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him? 19The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains. 20He that is so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved. 21Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? 22It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in: 23That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity. 24Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble. 25To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. 26Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth. 27Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God? 28Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: (Isaiah 40, King James Version)
Moses speaks to the children of Israel to listen to the statutes and the judgments’ that he has taught and to do the statutes that you may live and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers is giving you: Moses Law.
Moses commands that a word shall not be added to the commandments of God. A word shall not be taken away from the commandments of God. (2). Moses goes onto say that all of the generation before you are not here today, but you are here today because you held fast to the LORD your God. Moses teaches about the destruction at Baal Peor, in the Memorial Parsha of Pinchas (Numbers 25-30); and the anger of the LORDGod, unleashed against his people. Balaam the son of Beor picked up his reward and was struck down when the Army of the Lord entered into land of the Midianites and destroyed the land and the people. (Numbers 31:6-13). This is an excellent chapter to discuss the communicative diseases that spread and plague a community. As a matter of fact all vows are accepted by God from all mankind, but the church will not be offering animal sacrifices. Nevertheless, the early church (gentiles/saints) was required to observe the sacrifices at the three festivals per year. On the contrast, God’s word is the ark of the testimony. God commanded you to perform the covenant that he wrote on two tablets of stone – the Ten Commandments. (Exodus 20:1-17).
Deuteronomy 4:15-40: Beware of Idolatry.
God reminds the people that you know that God is a formless feature (4:35-36, 39). You shall not worship any form of likeness of God, because no man has ever seen God. (Deuteronomy 4:15-19). Today you have been delivered out of the house of bondage, the iron furnace, out of Egypt to be his people so that you would not have to worship their gods. (Jeremiah 46:1).
Next Moses reiterates that the LORD was angry with him for your sakes and swore that he shall not cross over the Jordan, and that he would not enter the good land which the LORD your God is giving the children of Israel as an inheritance. (Deuteronomy 1:37; 3:25-27). Moses shall die in this land, but you shall cross over and possess the promise land, in the land of the Canaan.
Moses preaches that you shall teach the children the commandments of the LORD God, and you shall not forget that it shall be forbidden that your descendants act corruptly with carved images of god and do evil in the sight of the LORD God to provoke the anger of the LORD God. The heavens and the earth, two elements Moses calls to witness that you shall perish from the land over across the Jordan that you shall possess: your days shall not be prolonged and you shall perish. Moses has explained the manner in which the enemy will exile the children of Israel from the land.
Moses preaches that when you are in exile you will serve the gods made by the hands of men, that are wood and stone that cannot hear or see. Then you will seek the LORD God and you will find Him because God is a merciful God. God will not forsake you, destroy you or forget the covenant of your fathers which he swore to them, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; through miracles since the beginning of the earth (4:29-34, 37, and 38).
Deuteronomy 4:41-43: Cities of Refuge East of the Jordan
Moses preaches the about the cities of Refuge that have been assigned when crossing over into the Jordan as the Lord God commanded in the Memorial Parsha Mattos-Massei, in Numbers 35:7-30. The Cities of Refuge are used for unintentional crimes that result in death. A person could stay there until judgment, thus being innocent until proven guilty. (Numbers 35:25-30; and Deuteronomy 4:42). The cities will be Bezer (Reuben; 1st Chronicles 5:1-6; 10); Gilead (Gad; 1st Chronicles 5:18-22); and Golan in Bashan (the land of the giants (Manasseh; 1st Chronicles 5:25-26).
Deuteronomy 4:44-49: Introduction to God’s Law
Moses preaches the introduction to Moses law, just as he did in the Memorial Parsha of Mattos-Massei (Deuteronomy 1:5). This is Moses law that you shall enter promise land and do the statutes and judgments of the LORD God, which are the testimony of the children of Israel when they came out of the land of bondage, out of Egypt with a high hand. (Exodus 15). Moses Law was preached on this side of the Jordan in the land of Sihon the king of Amorites’ and the children of Israel, the second generation defeated (Deuteronomy 2:26-37). Then the children of Israel took possession of the land of Og the king of Bashan (Deuteronomy 4:44-49; 3:1-11).
