Disciples of Jesus Christ's Memorial Parsha: Devarim-Deuteronomy 2

The Memorial Parsha for the Disciples of Jesus Christ: Deuteronomy 2.
euteronomy 1 through Deuteronomy 3. Haftorah Devarim: Isaiah 1:1-27. Saturday, July 17th, 2010.

Deuteronomy 2:1-23 - Wandering in the Desert.
The word of God came unto Moses, saying to take the journey into the wilderness, for forty years, each year for each day that the spies surveyed the land and came back with a bad report that caused the brethren to be disheartened and discouraged. However, Moses tells children f Israel that you have compassed the land too long, you shall enter the land promise land, in the land of Canaan. (Deuteronomy 2:4).

In the Memorial Parsha Pinchas, the children of Israel ask to pass through the land possessed by Esau and the reply was, “no.” (Numbers 20:14-21; Deuteronomy 2;4-6). Then Moses narrates the route that the children of Israel shall take to enter through the land of Ar, by passing the Giants, on their way to the promise land. Israel shall also succeed their enemies after destroying them and possessing the land the children of Israel shall dwell. (Numbers 20:18; Deuteronomy 2:7-12,17-23,29).

The children of Israel were at the brook of Zered, a total of 38 years and all the generation of men of war were wasted. The LORD God's hand was against those that he swore he would consume ( 18:33; Deuteronomy 2:13-14; Number 13:23).

Deuteronomy 2:24-37 – Defeat Sihon King of Heshbon.

Today is the Day that Moses command the "new" generation to pass by the Arnon River. You have already won the battle against Sihon, the King of Hesbon, (Deuteronomy 2:24; Numbers 21:13). Moreover, the nations will dread you and fear you, when they hear the report you survived the Exodus of Egypt (Deuteronomy 2:25; Exodus 15:14,15). Like Pharaoh, God hardened the heart of Sihon the King, and that day he delivered his kingdom into the children of Israel's hand, and gave them victory. (Deuteronomy 2:26-33). Unfortunately, the children of Israel destroyed all the inhabitants in every city throughout Heshbon. (Deuteronomy 2:33-35). Unlike, the previous generation, God forbade certain nations, but the land that the LORD gave to possess as an inheritance of Israel were contingent on the victory, and usually the cattle was kept as part of the spoil from the cities. (Deuteronomy 2:35-37).

DISCIPLES REFERENCE:

Matthew 25:31-40 -
31When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. (Matthew 25:31-40, King James Version)

Joshua 4:10-13 -
10For the priests which bare the ark stood in the midst of Jordan, until everything was finished that the LORD commanded Joshua to speak unto the people, according to all that Moses commanded Joshua: and the people hasted and passed over.
11And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over, that the ark of the LORD passed over, and the priests, in the presence of the people.
12And the children of Reuben, and the children of Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh, passed over armed before the children of Israel, as Moses spake unto them:
13About forty thousand prepared for war passed over before the LORD unto battle, to the plains of Jericho. (Joshua 4:10-13, King James Version)

Joshua 13:24 -
24And Moses gave inheritance unto the tribe of Gad, even unto the children of Gad according to their families. (Joshua 13:24, King James Version)

Revelation 13 -
1And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
2And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
3And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
4And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
5And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
6And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
7And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
8And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
9If any man have an ear, let him hear.
10He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
11And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
12And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
15And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
16And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. (Revelation 13, King James Version)
