Ezekiel 29:16 - ¹⁶And it shall be no more the confidence of the house of Israel, which bringeth their iniquity to remembrance, when they shall look after them: but they shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

Isaiah 11:1-4

¹And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

 ²And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

 ³And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:

 ⁴But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

Exodus 6:1-27: Israel's Deliverance
 ¹Then the LORD said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.

 ²And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD:

 ³And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.

 ⁴And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers.

 ⁵And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant.

 ⁶Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments:

 ⁷And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

 ⁸And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for an heritage: I am the LORD.

Exodus 7:1-25 : Aaron is Moses' Spokesman
 ¹And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.

 ²Thou shalt speak all that I command thee: and Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he send the children of Israel out of his land.

 ³And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.

Exodus 7:14-25:  The First Plague:  Waters Become Blood
 ¹⁴And the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hardened, he refuseth to let the people go.

 ¹⁵Get thee unto Pharaoh in the morning; lo, he goeth out unto the water; and thou shalt stand by the river's brink against he come; and the rod which was turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand.

 ¹⁶And thou shalt say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness: and, behold, hitherto thou wouldest not hear.
 ¹⁷Thus saith the LORD, In this thou shalt know that I am the LORD: behold, I will smite with the rod that is in mine hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.

 ¹⁸And the fish that is in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall lothe to drink of the water of the river.

 ²⁰And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.

Exodus 8:1-32: The Second Plague: Frogs
 ¹And the LORD spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

 ²And if thou refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all thy borders with frogs:

 ³And the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into thine house, and into thy bedchamber, and upon thy bed, and into the house of thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thine ovens, and into thy kneadingtroughs:

 ⁴And the frogs shall come up both on thee, and upon thy people, and upon all thy servants.

 ⁵And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch forth thine hand with thy rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up upon the land of Egypt.

 ⁶And Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt.

 ⁷And the magicians did so with their enchantments, and brought up frogs upon the land of Egypt.
 ⁸Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, "Intreat the LORD, that he may take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may do sacrifice unto the LORD."
 ⁹And Moses said unto Pharaoh, "Glory over me: when shall I intreat for thee, and for thy servants, and for thy people, to destroy the frogs from thee and thy houses, that they may remain in the river only?"
 ¹⁰And he said, "To morrow. And he said, Be it according to thy word: that thou mayest know that there is none like unto the LORD our God.
 ¹¹And the frogs shall depart from thee, and from thy houses, and from thy servants, and from thy people; they shall remain in the river only."
 ¹²And Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh: and Moses cried unto the LORD because of the frogs which he had brought against Pharaoh.
 ¹³And the LORD did according to the word of Moses; and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the villages, and out of the fields.

 ¹⁵But when Pharaoh saw that there was respite, he hardened his heart, and hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.
 ¹⁶And the LORD said unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and smite the dust of the land, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt.
 ¹⁷And they did so; for Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice in man, and in beast; all the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.
 ¹⁸And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not: so there were lice upon man, and upon beast.

 ²¹Else, if thou wilt not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies upon thee, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thy houses: and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereon they are.

 ²²And I will sever in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end thou mayest know that I am the LORD in the midst of the earth.

 ²³And I will put a division between my people and thy people: to morrow shall this sign be.

 ²⁴And the LORD did so; and there came a grievous swarm of flies into the house of Pharaoh, and into his servants' houses, and into all the land of Egypt: the land was corrupted by reason of the swarm of flies.
 ²⁵And Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, "Go ye, sacrifice to your God in the land."

 ²⁶And Moses said, "It is not meet so to do; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to the LORD our God: lo, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and will they not stone us?

 ²⁷We will go three days' journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to the LORD our God, as he shall command us."

 ²⁸And Pharaoh said, "I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness; only ye shall not go very far away: intreat for me."

 ²⁹And Moses said, "Behold, I go out from thee, and I will intreat the LORD that the swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, to morrow: but let not Pharaoh deal deceitfully any more in not letting the people go to sacrifice to the LORD."

Exodus 9:1-35: The Fifth Plague: Livestock Diseased
 ¹Then the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

 ²For if thou refuse to let them go, and wilt hold them still,

 ³Behold, the hand of the LORD is upon thy cattle which is in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep: there shall be a very grievous murrain.

 ⁴And the LORD shall sever between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt: and there shall nothing die of all that is the children's of Israel.
 ⁵And the LORD appointed a set time, saying, To morrow the LORD shall do this thing in the land.

 ⁶And the LORD did that thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt died: but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not one.

 ⁷And Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not one of the cattle of the Israelites dead. And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people go.

 ⁸And the LORD said unto Moses and unto Aaron, Take to you handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward the heaven in the sight of Pharaoh.

 ⁹And it shall become small dust in all the land of Egypt, and shall be a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast, throughout all the land of Egypt.

 ¹⁰And they took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses sprinkled it up toward heaven; and it became a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast.
 ¹¹And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boil was upon the magicians, and upon all the Egyptians.
 ¹²And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had spoken unto Moses.
 ¹³And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

 ¹⁴For I will at this time send all my plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth.

 ¹⁵For now I will stretch out my hand, that I may smite thee and thy people with pestilence; and thou shalt be cut off from the earth.

 ¹⁶And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.

 ¹⁷As yet exaltest thou thyself against my people, that thou wilt not let them go?

 ¹⁸Behold, to morrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt since the foundation thereof even until now.

 ¹⁹Send therefore now, and gather thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field; for upon every man and beast which shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die.

 ²⁰He that feared the word of the LORD among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses:
 ²¹And he that regarded not the word of the LORD left his servants and his cattle in the field.
 ²²And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch forth thine hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.
 ²³And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and the LORD sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and the LORD rained hail upon the land of Egypt.

 ²⁴So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.

 ²⁵And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and brake every tree of the field.

 ²⁶Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail.
 ²⁷And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, "I have sinned this time: the LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.
 ²⁸Intreat the LORD (for it is enough) that there be no more mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer."
 ²⁹And Moses said unto him, "As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands unto the LORD; and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that thou mayest know how that the earth is the LORD's.
 ³⁰But as for thee and thy servants, I know that ye will not yet fear the LORD God." (Exodus 9, King James Version)

Commentary:

In five minutes or less. I want to say that this Parsha is almost as intriguing as the first Parsha in the book of Exodus, which chronicles the lives of the children of Israel. Many of our ancestors who learn the hard way that sin does not pay. You seem to never get ahead for 413 years. Sounds like someone you know. I bet. Yet God remembers his friend, the righteous believer Abraham and he says that enough is enough. Much like the open square that the Angels of the LORD God once stood in after talking to Abraham and then Lot, then he destroys the area around Zoar, which is Sodom and Gommorrah city limits - in the land of Canaan. If you remember earlier, in Genesis 9, an earlier Parsha Noah warns Canaan, not Ham that impulsitivity would not be worthless.

Exodus 9:1-7:  The Plague on the Livestock

In the last chapter of the Memorial Parsha of Va’era God speaks to Moses and commands that he goes to Pharaoh once more and tells him, I AM, said “Let My People go.” If you continue to refuse to let My People then the hand of Jehovah will come against your livestock. Jehovah will make a distinction between your livestock and the livestock of the Israelites, and their livestock will not die.

This is amazing that God would continue to make a distinction between His People, because in this Parsha as well as Parsha Vayeshev (Genesis 37:1-40:23), Miketz (Genesis 41-Genesis 44:17),Vayigash (Genesis 44:18-47:27), and Vayechi (Genesis 47:28-Genesis 50:26) the Egyptians are rejecting the God’s Chosen People, the anointing of God is what they have rejected probably for a better eternity through Pharaoh and a diet free from lamb. It takes a lot of energy to reject a person, not just exalting yourself over that person but the times that you open up your religious book while I chewing on a snack, and then you wait till I stop chewing to board a public bus. Falsifying medical records and causes long errors because you don’t believe in the God of Israel, the God of the Hebrews and interfering with the anointing because you think in your sphere it is hyper-religion. It is very annoying to watch a person in 2010, spend a good amount of energy rejecting a person by refusing to eat a meal with that person, or waiting till they stop eating or leave the room to eat… and the meal is free – there is no credit card involved. Pharaoh investigated and saw that the livestock of the Israelites (Shepherd for the lamb) was not impacted by the plague. Pharaoh continued sin and refused to repent and listen to the words of Moses, commanded of God.

Nevertheless, the next day, at the appointed time God did that thing. He caused all of the Egyptian livestock died. All of the lamb and the livestock in the field - livestock in the field—on your horses, donkeys and camels and on your cattle, sheep and goats of the Israelites did not die because had put a difference between them. The lamb is symbolical of the anointed Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Exodus 9:8-12:  The Plague of Boils

Then Jehovah spoke to Aaron and they did as LORD Your God commanded in the sight of Pharaoh. Moses took a handful of (ashes) soot as commanded of God, and threw the ashes in the air. The ashes were symbolical of the prayers and tears and frustrations of the saints. (Revelations 5:8). In very destitute times, you can only uses ashes and sackcloth from the furnace, or the last acceptable sacrifice. After Moses has thrown the ashes into the air, then the Egyptians and the magicians were inflicted with boils upon everyone in the land of Egypt. The LORD Your God hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he did not listen to them. (Exodus 7:13-14, 22; 8:32; 9:7; 9:12).

Exodus 9:13-33:  The Plague of Hail

God speaks to Moses again and prepares him to go before Pharaoh to speak on behalf of the Israelites so that they can be redeemed from the affliction of bondage, and all of the unnecessary burdens etc. Pharaoh had exalted himself against the people of God and refused to let them go.

God spoke to Moses, and he did as God commanded and stretched out his rod toward heaven and God caused hail upon the land of Egypt. God sent plagues that had never been seen in the land of Egypt, since it was a sovereign nation and the state worship was mandated idolatry. Yet, God raised Pharaoh up for this very reason and many lived through the eight or so plagues, but God had promised the next plague would be full force (hail upon the land of Egypt: hail and fire that smote all of the fields) and impacted the public officials. (Exodus 9:22-25). God said, “I have raised you up^[a] for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth. ¹⁷ You still set yourself against my people and will not let them go.”

On the contrast, there was no hail in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel lived. (Isaiah 32:18,19; Exodus 9:26).

The next day God spoke the plague of hail on Egypt. The servants of Egypt who feared the word of God through the commands from Moses protected their property from the plague of hail, and brought theirselves, their slaves and their livestock – and anything of value indoors for shelter.

As God spoke, the next day a plague of Hail was sent throughout the entire land of Egypt, like never before. It was the worst storm in all the land of Egypt since it had become a nation. ²⁵ Throughout Egypt hail struck everything in the fields—both people and animals etc. For instance, even the “³¹ the flax and barley were destroyed, since the barley had headed and the flax was in bloom. ³² The wheat and spelt, however, were not destroyed, because they ripen later.” (Exodus 9:31-32).

Again, Pharaoh pleaded with Moses and Aaron summons them and said that he is wrong and the people are wrong. Pharaoh admitted that he was wrong because he wanted the plague of hail to stop; and then he would let the people of God go to serve God and be His chosen. Moses left the city, and asked interceded to God on behalf of Pharaoh and the plague of hail stopped. Pharaoh’s heart hardened, and he did sinned again and he and his officials had hardened hearts – and did not let the people go.

In closing, there will come a people one day that will not assimilate or be anything other than a proud Jewish race, a proud Jewish religion and most importantly a proud Jewish Nationality. The people will serve God and usher in the last days of the Messiah. Although we are in the last days, the people will acknowledge the Messiah and will not worry about rejection. There will only be peace in the name of the One Lord, One Baptism, and One faith in God. (Ephesians 5:4).

Finally, the Haftorah is prophesied by the prophet Ezekiel that the kingdom of Tyrus that no longer exist lifted their hand as the heart and the is in the seat of God (Jerusalem). You have been in the garden of Eden, and you know what it is like for God to provide all of your needs, but there will be a time that you will be in war with other nations. Yet you still have been on the holy mountain of God (the hills in Jerusalem) for protection and you know that God is sovereign but as as a nation you will not. Next the prophecy is set against the Sidon, who has caused the House of Israel to be scattered amongst the nations. God's hand of judgment will be in the midst of Sidon on every side: woods from the pestilence and bloodshed - and they shall know that "I AM" is Jehovah. No longer will Sidon, add wood to the fire of idolatry, nor shall Sidon be a grieving thorn just let by gones be gone even though you despised them and they shall know that I AM Jehovah. Even in a war torn land, Jehovah commands that 1) Ezekial 28:25 - ²⁵Thus saith the Lord GOD; When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then shall they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Jacob; 2) Ezekial 28:26 -  ²⁶And they shall dwell safely therein, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell with confidence, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despise them round about them; and they shall know that I am the LORD their God, which is Jehovah, The LORD Your GOD.


In the book of Ezekial the 29th Chapter,

 ¹In the tenth year, in the tenth month, in the twelfth day of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

 ²Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt:

 ³Speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself.

 ⁴But I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will cause the fish of thy rivers to stick unto thy scales, and I will bring thee up out of the midst of thy rivers, and all the fish of thy rivers shall stick unto thy scales. more....

In the book of Ezekial, Chapter 29, eventually the gods in the land of Egypt, the King of Pharaoh would prove to fail the king of Egypt and throughout the land. Jehovah said Egypt shall no longer be a prominent nation because ¹⁵It shall be the basest of the kingdoms; neither shall it exalt itself any more above the nations: for I will diminish them, that they shall no more rule over the nations. The prophet Jeremiah announces the downfall of the Pharaoh's (Pharaohonic) Dynasty. Yet, the House of Israel will have the strength in the midst of them to speak wisely in their natural tongue without fear of rejection and exile - the isms that come with a prophet outside the gates of Jerusalem because the Lord of Saboath is with them (Jeremiah 44:1-15; Isaiah 11:1).

 ¹³And he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the covenant of an everlasting priesthood; because he was zealous for his God, and made an atonement for the children of Israel.

Commentary:
In the chapter Israel plays the harlot arouses the anger of the LORD God.  The Israelites practice false religion, which is whoredom with the Moabites (Numbers 25:1-4).  This one acts sets into motion the virtuous cycle, that is eternal of the priesthood. The decisions as to executing judgment rest in the hand of the priesthood, not the Beth Din, Muhammad, Buddha, Krishna, none of that..., neither you, me or anyone that is not going before the House of David, the throne of God. I bet when the people cried at the Tabernacle in the Wilderness at Shittim, in for Jesus they were saying Jesus....  As brother Earnest saying at this time, there was nothing to bow down before the presence of the Lord Jesus but the Angels because Israel was practicing a false religion i.e., harlotry.

The people were crying at the door of the tabernacle,while a tribesman from Simeon, Zimri, flaunted a Midianitish woman Cozbi in front of Moses, and it is harlotry. The relationship is arroused the Anger of God against all of Israel that had offended God, and the result was divine punishment, which is a plague.  Phinehas fulfills the command of Moses, the word of God, and he kills the Midianite Princess and a tribal leader from Simeon.  Phinehas also descends from the sons of Aaron and Midianite heritage. Likewise, Moses is married to a wife of Midianite descent.

Nevertheless, Phinehas does as commanded by Moses to the princess of Baal Peor, and a Simeon tribal leader is thrust in the groin and later to be hung for alll the people t see. Phinehas executes judgment on the exact area where the plague is affecting the entire campl.  The Plague is immediately eradicated, after Phinhas slays Zimri and Cozbi. Phinehas did not follow the word of God hoping to help himself to the Priesthood but he was willing to help, he is now committed to the priesthood and dedicated to the priesthood by accepting who God chooses and following the unadulterated word of God. Pinchas is the grandson of Aaron, the High Priest, and he was not born at the time that God brought the Israelites fleeing out of Egypt, from the house of bondage (Numbers 24:8). It is more important to obey a commandment of Moses, a prophet that has heard from God.  The Gospel is the truth, and you don't have to worry about seduction and harrassment. This is why Jesus said, Capernum should repent and he also said a prophet has no honor (Matthew 13:57 and John 4:44).  Upon hearing the gospel, you ought to repent because Capernum was one of the unrepentant cities. (Matthew 11:33).  Nevertheless, there are some people who think Phinehas zeal was done to steal the everlasting Priesthood.  Phinehas may have counted on the plague being everlasting, and could not be stopped because Israel joined the enemy and served Baal Peor (Numbers 25:3).  On the contrast, only God can give you an everlasting covenant for your people.  Phinehas lied to see the next generation enter in the Promise Land.  Therefore, the enemy counts on you serving Baal in your lowest point in the valley, remember the Shepherd of Israel, the shepherd of your salvation, the descendant of Aaron and a Descendant of King David - from Phinehas to Jesus - an everlasting high priest.  ³²And thou shalt see an enemy in my habitation, in all the wealth which God shall give Israel: and there shall not be an old man in thine house for ever.
 ³³And the man of thine, whom I shall not cut off from mine altar, shall be to consume thine eyes, and to grieve thine heart: and all the increase of thine house shall die in the flower of their age.
 ³⁴And this shall be a sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas; in one day they shall die both of them.
 ³⁵And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.
 ³⁶And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left in thine house shall come and crouch to him for a piece of silver and a morsel of bread, and shall say, Put me, I pray thee, into one of the priests' offices, that I may eat a piece of bread. (1 Samuel 2:22-36, King James Version)

Judges 11:22-25 - Jephthah
 ²²And they possessed all the coasts of the Amorites, from Arnon even unto Jabbok, and from the wilderness even unto Jordan.
 ²³So now the LORD God of Israel hath dispossessed the Amorites from before his people Israel, and shouldest thou possess it?
 ²⁴Wilt not thou possess that which Chemosh thy god giveth thee to possess? So whomsoever the LORD our God shall drive out from before us, them will we possess.
