The Memorial Parsha of Behaalotecha is comproised of Numbers 8th Chapter through Numbers 12th Chapter and verses one through sixteen. This Memorial Parsha is studied on the weekend, Sabbath of May 20th, 2010. In this passage, we will study the twelveth verse.
Numbers 12
1And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.
2And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it.
3(Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
4And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.
5And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.
6And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
7My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
8With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
9And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed.
10And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.
11And Aaron said unto "Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned.
12Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother's womb."
13And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, "Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee."
14And the LORD said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again.
15And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.
16And afterward the people removed from Hazeroth, and pitched in the wilderness of Paran. (Numbers 12, King James Version)
Thalia's Commentary: 12 Numbers
Here in the twelveth chapter we see that Moses asks for pardon on behalf of Miriam, the Messianic era has not been completely ushered in yet because Jesus said that the Kingdom of God is within you. That means that all we have to do is seek the Kingdom of God first and all things will be added with good measure and busting over. There are so many good stories about willing and God fearing Blacks or Ethiopians in the Bible. However there are few that are willing to tell the story - to preach the gospel and to teach the gospel. Most of all in the first Chapter in the book of Exodus and also in the book of Numbers tells us what people need to know and that is that Israel is God's firstborn. God says that his first born is liken unto a thousand generations and keeps his mercy for thousands (Exodus 34:6-7).
It seems as if Moses siblings bellieved that Moses couldn't be the only divine messenger since he had married an Ethiopian wife. As a matter of fact, "I get that alot. People think when I hang around that I am the black girl looking to convert into their world of religion. I am a native of America, and I do not require that you convert into my religion or way of life and the land can never be yours. Why someone would tell me to convert into a movement is beyond my wildest dreams, I would rather stay here in my ancestral land. America. Sometimes I fantacize and think about going to another country. Then there is the issue of whether or not you would be converted into the Northern Kingdom or whether or not you would be converted into the Southern Kingdom; but the Northern Kingdom probably would want to restore King Saul's perpetual line. However an individual would probably need to sit and think that I have always been there with our birth right then we don't need to be converted." "I have always honored the Lord God with all of my strength now some days I am a little weaker than other days because all points of hell has just been thrown at me. I even had my sister tell me well Jesus is Lord of all of that... I then told her, unless the people in Prince Georges County "little egypt," has the fear of God, then they will continue to be the servants of the devil and this behaviour requires final redemption."
After being consumed by the land of the foreigner, sometimes you ask "is this the glory of God?" (Leviticus 26:45) Sometimes I try to do all of God's laws, ordinances, and statutes to the best of my ability; and I know God has anointed my head with oil (Psalm 105:6-8 and Luke 1:72). No matter what your spouses nationality is, don't let race or nationality getting in the way of the word, Jesus is Lord in my life, over my sex life, dating and he is on the throne of King David.

After seven days, Miriam was healed of leprousy, then she was allowed back into the camp. The people moved from HAZEROTH and camped in the Wilderness of PARAN.
