Memorial Parsha Pinchas of Jesus Christ at Numbers 25

This is the Memorial Parsha of Jesus Christ, in the book of Numbers, chapters 25 through 30. The Memorial Portion of Pinchas can be found from Numbers 25 through Numbers 30. The Haftorah for Balak can be found at Micah 5:6-14 and Micah 6:1-8 and Jeremiah 1 - 2.  Enjoy your lesson.

NUMBERS 25:
 ¹And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.
 ²And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.
 ³And Israel joined himself unto Baal-peor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel.
 ⁴And the LORD said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.
 ⁵And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, "Slay ye every one his men that were joined unto Baalpeor."
 ⁶And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
 ⁷And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand;
 ⁸And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.
 ⁹And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.
 ¹⁰And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
 ¹¹Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.
 ¹²Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace:
 ¹³And he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the covenant of an everlasting priesthood; because he was zealous for his God, and made an atonement for the children of Israel.
 ¹⁴Now the name of the Israelite that was slain, even that was slain with the Midianitish woman, was Zimri, the son of Salu, a prince of a chief house among the Simeonites.
 ¹⁵And the name of the Midianitish woman that was slain was 'Cozbi,' the daughter of Zur; he was head over a people, and of a chief house in Midian.
 ¹⁶And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
 ¹⁷Vex the Midianites, and smite them:
 ¹⁸For they vex you with their wiles, wherewith they have beguiled you in the matter of Peor, and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of a prince of Midian, their sister, which was slain in the day of the plague for Peor's sake. (Numbers 25, King James Version)

Commentary:
In the chapter Israel plays the harlot arouses the anger of the LORD God.  The Israelites practice false religion, which is whoredom with the Moabites (Numbers 25:1-4).  This one acts sets into motion the virtuous cycle, that is eternal of the priesthood. The decisions as to executing judgment rest in the hand of the priesthood, not the Beth Din, Muhammad, Buddha, Krishna, none of that..., neither you, me or anyone that is not going before the House of David, the throne of God. I bet when the people cried at the Tabernacle in the Wilderness at Shittim, in for Jesus they were saying Jesus....  As brother Earnest saying at this time, there was nothing to bow down before the presence of the Lord Jesus but the Angels because Israel was practicing a false religion i.e., harlotry.

The people were crying at the door of the tabernacle,while a tribesman from Simeon, Zimri, flaunted a Midianitish woman Cozbi in front of Moses, and it is harlotry. The relationship is arroused the Anger of God against all of Israel that had offended God, and the result was divine punishment, which is a plague.  Phinehas fulfills the command of Moses, the word of God, and he kills the Midianite Princess and a tribal leader from Simeon.  Phinehas also descends from the sons of Aaron and Midianite heritage. Likewise, Moses is married to a wife of Midianite descent.

Nevertheless, Phinehas does as commanded by Moses to the princess of Baal Peor, and a Simeon tribal leader is thrust in the groin and later to be hung for alll the people t see. Phinehas executes judgment on the exact area where the plague is affecting the entire campl.  The Plague is immediately eradicated, after Phinhas slays Zimri and Cozbi. Phinehas did not follow the word of God hoping to help himself to the Priesthood but he was willing to help, he is now committed to the priesthood and dedicated to the priesthood by accepting who God chooses and following the unadulterated word of God. Pinchas is the grandson of Aaron, the High Priest, and he was not born at the time that God brought the Israelites fleeing out of Egypt, from the house of bondage (Numbers 24:8). It is more important to obey a commandment of Moses, a prophet that has heard from God.  The Gospel is the truth, and you don't have to worry about seduction and harrassment. This is why Jesus said, Capernum should repent and he also said a prophet has no honor (Matthew 13:57 and John 4:44).  Upon hearing the gospel, you ought to repent because Capernum was one of the unrepentant cities. (Matthew 11:33).  Nevertheless, there are some people who think Phinehas zeal was done to steal the everlasting Priesthood.  Phinehas may have counted on the plague being everlasting, and could not be stopped because Israel joined the enemy and served Baal Peor (Numbers 25:3).  On the contrast, only God can give you an everlasting covenant for your people.  Phinehas lied to see the next generation enter in the Promise Land.  Therefore, the enemy counts on you serving Baal in your lowest point in the valley, remember the Shepherd of Israel, the shepherd of your salvation, the descendant of Aaron and a Descendant of King David - from Phinehas to Jesus - an everlasting high priest. Counting the Omer: The Eighth day after the Passover and through the Pentecost



It is 1490, on the eight day, after the Passover (exodus 12:14), and the Shechinah glory of our Lord God is present with the Israelites, a year after the children of Israel's Exodus from Egypt, and the liberation from slavery. In the first month, the commandment to eat bread made without yeast, from evening of the fourteenth day until the evening of the seventh day. http://www.urj.org/holday/baomer/omer; and http://www.kosher4passover.com/calendar.htm.

The first eight days of the Passover also consisted of the word of God, and all of his judgments, six hundred thirty three deeds. Moses is called to the mountain of the LORD God. However, the people agreed to do all the word of God (Exodus 26:30). Then Moses built an altar and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings of oxen unto the Lord (Leiviticus 9:18-20). He also sprinkled half of the blood on the altar (Leviticus 9:12-16). Again, the people agree to do all that the LORD has commanded, after Moses reads all the words that he had written down in the book of the covenant for the children of Israel: a nation of priest, a holy nation, a peculiar people (Exodus 19:6; 1st Peter 2:9; and 2^nd Thessalonians 2:10-16).

Exodus 16:16-18 -
 ¹⁶This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his tents.
 ¹⁷And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less.
 ¹⁸And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating. (Exodus 16:16-18, King James Version)



While we count the Omer, up until Pentecost, I thought there was no better way than to talk about our love for God. However in the New Testament, talks about the Love and confidence that abounds through Jesus. Jesus is love, and Jesus commandment that he gives aside from the Law, the word of God is still the word of God. Jesus commands us to love one another.


John 13:34-35 -³⁴A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
 ³⁵By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. (John 13:34-35, King James Version)

In closing, the following mitzvahs (good deeds) were observed and performed during the first seven days in the book of Exodus in the twenty-sixth (Exodus 26) chapter, which is Memorial Parsha Terumah (Exodus 26:1-12). The commandment to make the tabernacle (rebuild the Temple): tabernacle curtains woven of fine wool linen. In addition to the curtains for the tabernacle, there are also curtains for the tent (Exodus 26:9-14). The boards (frames) of acacia (shittim) wood are used to make the tabernacle (Exodus 26:15-23). Also the crossbars are made of acacia wood to go on the frames of the tabernacle. The wooden frames are overlaid with gold (Exodus 26:26-29). Lastly, the ark of the testimony is placed behind the fine linen veil that shall be created by skilled craftsman (Exodus 26:31-33). The curtains shall separate the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place. The mercy seat shall be placed upon the Ark of the Testimony, in the most Holy Place (Exodus 26:34). Alongside the veil, the table shall be placed near the lampstand, and shall be woven from fine line with its fine pillars (Exodus 26:35-37; and Exodus 25:23-30; and Exodus 25:31-40).

The eight day was the culmination of the inauguration of the first High Priest. The priest, Aaron and his sons were consecrated seven days (Exodus 29). Like the eight day, the newly installed priest is consecrated for eight days and is not permitted to leave the sanctuary (Exodus 30:9; Exodus 24:1; Exodus 19:22; Ezekial 24:15; Numbers 16:40; and Luke 7:28).

The fire from the censer was a profane offering. A profane offering shall not be offered unto the LORD (Eoxuds 30:9).  The fire devoured Abihu and Nadab; because the LORD did not command a profane fire. Nadab and Abihu; because the LORD did not command a profane fire. Nadab and Abihu, died instantly from the smoke inhalation are their bodies were carried out of the camp.

The sabbath that this Memorial Portion was read was back in 1942, around the month of April, the next day was Sunday and the beginning of the Holocaust. In some locations the annihlation of Jews were as many as 6000 in that one day. No one was safe if they did not fit the approval of Hitler's regime. Nevertheless, that following Sunday, thousands of people were victimized and sent off to death camps. Unlike the camps that sat adjacent tot he camps near the Tabernacle of Meeting (Exodus 33:7). The wrath of God is all consuming and most importantly you want the anoinint over your life. Don't worry about the accelerated persecution that you receive in this life, life gives you problems. The instances of the anointing vehemently in a particular sanctuary and say that the penalty of sin was the censer which is the responsibility of Aaron - God punished his sons for a reason - his sons did something that was sinful but I do not know what he has done (Exodus 30:7-8). Again this punishment may have been added to the Golden Calf sin, which is preceded by God writing the ten commandments and giving them to Moses. Again, God gives the ten commandments, to Moses, not only in Exodus 31, but also in Exodus 34. God wrote the ten commandments, with His finger.

Like the Golden Calf, which stages Moses returns and punishes the disobedient; and three thousand guilty men fell and are punished; Moses makes atonement for the Godlen Calf rebellion. The second Tablets are written by the hand of God, exclusively for you. Hyper-Religion? No, just serving a God that cares for me, he favors me. God forgives the people and Moses returns to the camp, on Yom Kippur.

Many of you will suffer the same fate of genocide: poverty, war, crime and institutionalization. God's judgment may also be in the form of famine (poverty); sword (war); destitution; pestilence; and desolation. As God begins to take you to another level, the persection comes like a force from hell, yet the son of perdition is not quite revealed, but he will be revealed in your congregation. People will say Jesus died on the cross so I could be an apostle over all; or so that I can do this or that... To tell the truth, I never asked you to do anything for me that I would not do for you. So stop trying to be my priest and priestess - you look like a Tarot card. Religion is no joke and nothing to play with... Religion does different things to different people, and we are wired differently.  As Elijah said, the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD (Malachi 4:6 and 2nd Thessalonians 2:3). The servants of the LORD GOD will have a seal on their foreheads and having the seal of the living god, the children of Israel were sealed to their respective tribe of the living God (Revelations 7:4-8). If I exhort you, I preach the gospel that you wait on the spirit of God in your affliction.

Exodus 9: The LORD visits the Egyptians with the plagues.

The word of God visits the iniquity of the Egyptians with the fifth, sixth and seventh plague. At this point, the hand of the LORD strikes the cattle of the Egyptians that are in the field, on the horses, on the donkeys, on the camels, on the oxen and on the sheep. A very severe pestilence is plagues the livestock of the Egyptians.

The King of Egypt refuses to allow the Israelites to go, and he still holds them. The LORD fulfills His Word, and at the appointed set time, that He would do what He said he would do, the LORD made a difference between the children of the Israel - in the land of Egypt, and none of their livestock were plagued or dead. But if the heart of Pharoah continued to be hard then he will not let the people go to serve their LORD God.

Many times we are on the right path to serving God and studying the word of His Son, Jesus, the Messiah of the Jewish people. His name is the highest name, and no other god can demand this praise to glorify the Father, because you have seen the Son, the first fruit of the children of Israel, the sons of God.

In verses, eight through twelve, Moses does as God directs him takes a handful of ashes, that is normally consecrated to the LORD God, during a burnt sacrifice, instead the ashes are sanctified before the presence of God and scattered toward the heavens in the sight of Pharaoh. The ashes become like fine dust and cause boils that break out in sores on man and beast, even the magicians, throughout the land of Egypt. However, the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils for the boils were on the magicians too.

In verses, thirteen through thirty five, Moses continues to hear a word from the LORD, and pleads on behalf of the Israelites, the sons of God, to let His people Go, that they may serve Him. If Pharoah continues to harden his heart as he did so with the first five plagues, more will surely come to the very heart of you, your servants and on your people - that you have never met; because God alone had raised the Pharaoh up to magnificence and the people would know that there is none like Him in all the earth (v. 16). God did not stretch out His hand to strike the people with pestilence because they would have been cut off from the earth:

Then the people who fear the word of God that are among the servants of Pharaoh fled to their houses; but the people who did not fear the word of God left their servants and live stock in the filed. Moses did as the word of commanded him and stretched out his hand and embraced his rod toward heaven; and the LORD sent thunder and hail, and fire darted to the ground and there was hail on the land of Egypt, (v.23), but the wheat and the spelt survived the plague. "²⁴So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.
 ²⁵And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and brake every tree of the field.  ²⁶Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail.  ²⁷And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have sinned this time: the LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.  ²⁸Intreat the LORD (for it is enough) that there be no more mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer (Exodus 9:24-28)."

So Moses did as Pharaoh had commanded, and as soon as he left the city and spreaded out his hands to the LORD the hail would stop, when he would leave the city. He also knew that the servants of Pharoah would not fear the LORD God, and that his magicians were not the Lord of the earth and could only make a curse worst, they had no ability to heal; which is the gospel. After the LORD stopped the rain, the hail, and the thunder then Pharoah sinned again; and he hardened his heart and so did his servants because they wanted the sons of God to serve them, as if they were a god or lord of Lords. But the Egyptians did not have a word to heal their land or the earth.

Maybe today you are in physical slavery and bondage or a slave to sin. You might be in bondage to sickness, disease, famine, poverty, desolation, destruction, war, and anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, the sword. The enemy is not your friend. He will slay you with a physical sword. The word of God says, ¹⁷Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. ¹⁸And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. (Ephesians 6:17-18)
